Me on the Central Park carousel.
I am currently a graduate student at the Medill School of Journalim at Northwestern University. To the left, you see my Medill Methods class our first quarter at school. It was broadcast day, which is why we all look pretty. Not that we don't ordinarily look pretty.
And in the absence of a farm, I make cakes with sheep on them and it seems to soothe my soul a bit. That's homemade falafel in my hand, of which I was quite proud. Cake and falafel is not the flavor disaster its sounds like. There's a pleasant the sweet-salty dynamic. I've also made homemade cheese and yogurt. This summer Im canning peaches. As soon as I figure out how. |
Hi. Im Nicole Duarte, and I am a multimedia journalist. You may be noticed the lack of multimedia journalism on this site. I did too. Im currently getting my projects together, and I will be posting my most recent multimedia projects to this site in the next few weeks. In the meantime, check out some of my print clips. I just finished a quarter as a business reporter in Chicago. I covered manufacturing, but ended up writing about a number of subjects- personal finance, transportation and agriculture for example. As a result of my experience, I can produce a quarterly earnings story that would make you dizzy from its brilliance. Im also a part of the Media Management Project. We are designing a new web product for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. We are in the market research phase, and though I am a little wary of using terms like "synergy," the audience research is fascinating. Apparently web audiences enter web sites, not through the front door of the site, but through links Google and all different points of entry. I'll keep ya'll updated on that. |
